Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos stated on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his close associates.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his promoter had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the passing of his two close friends.”
