🔗 Share this article The Game UN:Me: A Cerebral Horror Merging Survival Horror with Social Deduction Gameplay The latest Day of the Devs digital showcase revealed several intriguing future games, but one in particular has seized attention: UN:Me. Developed by Historia and Shueisha Games, this single-player adventure appears to fuse together the oppressive atmosphere of a Silent Hill game with the suspicion-driven core of Among Us. "This is a unique game where a young woman containing multiple human souls within her must escape from a maze of the mind," explains developer Yasukazu Kawai. Entering a Shattered Consciousness In UN:Me, players take control of an unnamed female protagonist seeming to be of high school age. Within her reside four distinct personas, all possessing their own anxieties and motivations. These souls can seize control at will, releasing their deep-seated terrors upon her without warning. Based on revealed gameplay, much of the action unfolds within a eerie hospital, while other scenes show the protagonist navigating a desolate chapel. A World of Personal Horror "What are you afraid of? What makes you uncomfortable?" asks creative lead Shun Sasaki. "High places. Small rooms. People in power. Elements that appear minor to others can trigger something primal inside us. This game delves into that idea — fears that are unique to each person." The core gameplay loop revolves around controlling the persona that surfaces at any given moment. However, these identities will change involuntarily as you play. While exploring, every persona's fears become exaggerated and assault the girl in succession. As the persona changes, so does the particular terror the player encounters. Unsettling Visuals and a Deadly Choice At first glance, UN:Me shares noticeable aesthetic parallels with the Silent Hill series. The hospital is populated by orderlies who all share the same face, with disturbingly broad grins. Patients in the waiting room have large blooms growing from their necks are. Flowers are a recurring theme, juxtaposing organic elegance with supernatural dread. Yet, UN:Me presents a singular twist. Players are tasked with deducing which of the four entities inhabiting the heroine is the "true" one. "Each of the souls claims that the body is rightfully them," notes a creator. "During the game, you must determine who is authentic." After a player have deduced a soul is fake, they must eliminate it. However, because each soul can deceive or hide the truth, it is incredibly simple to make a mistake. "Perhaps you've already destroyed the true [soul] by your own actions," a voice states. "The last one remaining might be a fraud. In any case, your decisions are final." UN:Me does not yet have a confirmed launch window, but it is can be wishlist on platforms.
