The former president's Family Member Seeks Expert Advice from Golf Legend Woods Ahead of LPGA First Appearance

Emerging athlete preparing for significant competition

This young athlete boasts substantial online presence

Kai Trump will have plenty of well-known backers when she makes her first LPGA appearance this Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who is connected to a former US president, was granted a special exemption to compete at Florida's Annika event in Florida.

The former president, someone who loves golf, owns several international courses and often matches against his granddaughter.

"He's fairly competent. I can't say much but we play tight competitions," she stated.

She mentioned that Trump, who won't be present, told her: "Simply don't get nervous."

"My grandpa practically suggested to go out there and enjoy myself," she added.

"To me, he's simply an ordinary family member. He's not attending for the tournament. He's focused on world affairs, so he's quite busy."

While still amateur, Kai has competed in only three events this year and holds position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association listings.

However she's able to receive tips from Tiger Woods, who is dating Kai's mother.

"He represents the best player in the world," Kai stated.

"Furthermore, he's a superior human being. He told me to compete, enjoy myself, adapting to whatever happens."

She'll challenge several most prominent players in women's golf at the Annika, including second-ranked the champion, British golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.

Tournament organizers commented that involving Kai helps introduce golf to different demographics, particularly reaching youth audiences.

The social media influencer boasts a massive following and just introduced an exclusive apparel and wellness company.

The competition starts at late afternoon GMT.
