Palestinian-American Youth Released Following 270 Days in Israel's Detention

An Palestinian-American youth having endured 270 days in imprisonment by Israel without being charged has been freed.

Mohammed Ibrahim was 15 during his detention this past winter within the occupied West Bank, during a family visit while residing in Florida for allegedly throwing stones toward Israeli settlers, which he previously denied.

The US state department applauded the news of Mohammed's release.

Now sixteen years old, was taken to hospital upon gaining freedom, family members reported.

According to them, he appears visibly pale and thin, and experiencing medical problems developed during imprisonment.

Family member Zeyad Kadur described how relatives endured "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" during the entire detention period.

"Currently, our priority is ensuring Mohammed receives prompt healthcare he requires after being subjected to Israel's abuse and inhumane conditions for months."

The state department said it would continue to provide consular support to Mohammed's family.

{"US government authorities gives utmost importance to ensuring the safety of US citizens"," it added.

Several congressional representatives endorsed a document to US authorities and the administration, demanding more be done to secure his release.

The father, with four children managing a frozen treats business in Florida, previously said Mohammed acknowledged allegations regarding stone throwing due to physical abuse.

The father hadn't visited or spoken to Mohammed since the arrest, receiving updates exclusively about his son's condition in detention through court documents.

He stayed lacking indictment within Ofer penitentiary throughout the occupied territory.

Additionally housing mature inmates, some of whom have been convicted of serious terrorism offences and homicide.
